House Music History Lesson

It has come to my attention on the internet regarding David Guetta.  It so happens that ABC's Nightline quoted,

"Helped Bring House Music To The US"

This headline quote has made a controversial debate and even hating on David Guetta himself within the social media outlets.

Let me just concintrate on a few facts.

-  House Music came out of the Underground Sounds from the Disco genre.
-  The clubs in New York and Chicago such as the legendary 'Muzic Box', 'Warehouse Garage' and ' Paradise Garage' were the places where Disco and newly created music from unknown artists were being played.
-  Dj's such as Larry Levan, Ron Hardy, Frankie Knuckles just to name a few were responsible to play the music that was being rejected by the masses before and after the "Disco Sucks" stunt in Comiskey Park, Chicago back in July 12, 1979 by Steve Dahl.
- Tracks such as 'Your Love' Jamie Principle, Frankie Knuckles 'On and On' by Jesse Saunders, Duane Buford and Vince Lawrence responsible for being one of the first House Music tracks.
- Legendary Label TRAX were allowing home grown artist distribute this new electronic music out to the masses.
- In 1981 was the beginning of Hot Mix 5 on a Chicago radio station contributed to the foundations of House Music be played on the airwaves with a group of American Dj's such as Farley 'Jackmaster' Funk, Mickey 'Mix' Oliver, Kenny 'Jammin' Jason, Raphi Rosario, Scot 'Smokin' Silz.

Although there were many new artists such as Mr. Fingers, Marshall Jefferson, Adonis, House Master Boys, Phuture coming out during the early years, no where does the name David Guetta appear in any of the historical events that occurred in Chicago, Detroit and New York during those days in the late 70's and 80's.

Not hating on David Guetta and his accomplishments what ever they may be.  Good on him.  I blame the Journalist or the person responsible who made the comment, headline about David Guetta helping House Music in the US.  I feel that it is totally disrespectful to the forefathers of the Genre that has become a World Wide sensation with the dance music scene to this day.

There is no day that goes by that I totally respect the origins of House Music and have been blessed enough to be alive during those days.

As for ABC news, please listen to Chuck Roberts lyrics with the Mr. Fingers Can You Feel it and the Move Your Body by Marshall Jefferson.

Peace Love and Respect to all the Dj's and Artists who create, play and dance to House Music.
